Have done some searches on Audiokarma.Org for any mentions of the EICO Cortina integrated stereo amp models 3070 (15w x 2 at 8-ohms, continuous; originally $ 89.95 kit or $ 129.95 wired) and 3150 (40w x 2 at 8-ohms, continuous; originally $ 149.95 kit or $ 225.00 wired). Can find no mentions of the 3150, and only a precious few mentions of the 3070.
Both units were favorably reviewed by the leading audio mags of the day -- the 3070 in the November 1967 High Fidelity and December 1967 Stereo Review; the 3150 in the June 1969 Stereo Review and June 1969 Audio magazine.
For the record, I never owned either unit. If I did, I would have preferred the 3150. The kit price of $ 149.95 made it a steal, of course. At its wired price of $ 225.00, the 3150 compared very well with other integrated amps in that price range, including the classic Acoustic Research AR Amplifier. The AR may have put out 50 watts/ch. continuous at 8-ohms vs the 3150's 40w/ch, but the 3150, judging by the Stereo Review and Audio tests, was able to hold its own against its more powerful rival.
The 3070 was in production from 1966 to at least 1977. The 3150 had (most unfortunately) a shorter production lifespan, from 1968 to 1972.
If any one has owned either unit, or if any one has detailed literature of either unit, particularly an owner's manual (3150 preferred), please let me know at your leisure. (3150 image from 1968 EICO catalog).
