Eico Hf-81 Outputs

Hey everyone, hope everyone is staying cool this July. Just ordered an Eico Hf-81 and was wondering is anyones noticed that there seems to be two versions of the output transformers, anyone know if there is a quality difference? Also any idea of new pots to replace the old tone controls? Really excited after years of seeing people loving this amp. Wonder how it will compare to my Maggie 9302.

Anyone have a schematic for the pec in this thing? Also does anyone have a link to a pot shaft extender that would work great for replacement controls? I guess Ill keep posting questions on this thread till someone that knows this amp stops by, hoping it helps others as my search for these questions got me no where.

Here's a closeup of the PEC. It's the parts inside the dotted line. If you need the complete Sams schematic send me a PM with your regular email. The file is too large to upload here.

Thanks Charlie, are you the go to PEC guy? I think you had the schematic for my VOM amp too. It's strange that the voltages present don't concur with the Eico Hf 81 manual. Pin 6 of V2 should be 60 V :/ I'll PM you.

I can't imagine that I'm the 'go to' guy for anything, but I have the schematic. I do recall sending out a schematic that I drew up for the PEC used in the Voice of Music 1448 and 1428 amps.

There are sometimes mistakes in the Sams. I have an HF-81 that I rebuilt many years ago but I don't recall if there were voltages that were inconsistent between the factory manual and the Sams. I suspect when you rebuild it that the actual voltage will be closer to the factory version.

Sent you the Sams.

I have the VOM working but still needs some work (bad volume pot), I love vintage gear but am tired of dealing with hard to find replacement pots. I keep telling myself to only build stuff now because its less of a hassle but I just couldn't pass up the chance when everyone seems to love this amp, hope I get it running nice soon.
