Elderly Dog troubles.......

An absolutely wonderful pain med for dogs is Tramadol (sometimes called Ultram). Your vet can prescribe it, and it can make a day/night difference in an older dogs quality of life.:yes:
 
It does not sound like you are at the level me and my wife were at with our pekingese .but we kept that poor blind dog alive at least a year longer than we should have.
As long as you are putting the dogs feelings first that is a good barometer .but we should have put our dog to sleep at least a year more like two before we did

TALK TO THE VET BEFORE ANY ASPIRIN!!!!
My Dobermann of 10 years old all of a sudden had something wrong with her hip area. The doctor told me to give the dog 2 aspirin and she started hemorrhaging and to be put down. She lost lots of blood. We never knew for sure what really happened to her. Be careful with aspirin it thins the blood!!
 
I have HEARD that aspirin can burn holes in a dog's stomach......

I don't give my dog ANY kind of drugs unless prescribed/recommended by the vet..
