Hi Folks,

Thanks again for the advice. I didn't notice this until this morning. . . . thought you might be interested. I'm guessing one of my pair were bought before the other for a mono hi-fi set. I'm guessing the wealthy Schwinn family bought a stereo set shortly after and added the second (newer version xover) speaker then. I believe the model 11 is actually the Aristocrat II (2). The other speaker decal only states " The Aristocrat".

Yes that’s the same label as mine has. Use it occasionally as a mono system with tube amp (Electrohome PA-100) with matching tube pre (VA-100). Also have their totl am/fm tuner from the same period (almost impossible to find - originally priced well above the amp cost). All from 1958 so fits nicely with the Electro-Voice age. Haven’t had the speaker touched yet as I thought finding a second would be easy, but as I said earlier, that’s proven to be impossible so far. That said, I’m pretty happy with a mono system anyway so have more or less given up the search now. Time to service the speaker I guess.

As soon as I clear out the room again (reno’s going on for Christmas), I’ll add some pics of mine. Sorry I couldn’t do that up front.

Final follow up folks - I ordered, received and installed NOS JBL 13uf Caps in the Model II crossover. I ordered 4 so I can replace the other pair when they go too. Speaker now sings with joy. I've been listening to the pair for a few hours and am noticing the other horn cutting out intermittently. Upon twisting the HF pot, it seems to stop. Next step, is to remove and clean the pot later today. After that I think they are going to go under a pair of Bose 901 V.1 for my fronts to my HTS. Many thanks to all who helped me resurrect these fine speakers!
 
Hey DJ, would you mind posting a photo or two of them just full frontal? I don't think there was any just "photos" of them like that. Would love to see what they look like.

Overall they're in pretty good shape for being at least 10 years older than I am. The Model II has a pretty bad gouge in the top, but other than that, they're pretty good and I haven't event taken the "OldEnglish" to them yet!

I just picked up a pair marked Aristocrat II for what I think is a great price. They are a little rough but anxious to get them home and really check them out.
 
They're meant to be corner cabinets.
