...Finally got around to opening up the cabinet ... and found the following ...
SP12D ... which differs slightly from the model in my catalog (SP12 which listed for $80)
T25A 8HD ... which listed for $50 and $19 respectively my catalog
T350 ... which listed for $65 in my catalog
The crossover (the board is 8" x 17") appears to match the Model X1835 in my catalog that sold for $80.
Here are some pics (forgot to snap the T25A 8HD) ...

This is a cool system: EV basically designed the 60s equivalent of a satellite/subwoofer system, but the "subwoofer" is part of one of the satellites i.e. the Georgian's woofer. And the "satellites" are made up of the Stereon and the remaining drivers in the Georgian.
FYI: Klipsch's Heresy model was also originally intended to be used as a center channel for their Klipschhorns, hence *its* limited bass response.

Hi All, I picked up my EV Patricians yesterday....what a chore! We rented a frige dolly from uhaul and a bag of packing blankets for 15$ and drove to Detroit and picked them up. 350lbs each. It was a real pain in the ares but we got them set up and playing. There was a lot of snap, crakle, and pop as we adjusted the pots for each driver. In time that all calmed down and the drivers loosen up and the cap settled in and WOW, it is hard to discribe the sound. I have heard of subs being effortless but did not understand that at the time, but now I really understand it. The sub is not flabby or muddy, it is absolutly accurate. The t350 tweeter is bright and clear, the mid horn is smooth and detailed, the midbass is rich and powerful. I need to clean the pots and the crossover is already set up for bi amping the sub on its own amp and I will do that soon. Limono has something that can measure the caps in the crossover and we'll do that and recap them if necassary. Here are a couple pics. I'll post more in time. One wierd thing is the mid horn driver. I know all the EV drivers (or I thought I did) but the one on the mid horn is huge. Bigger than any EV driver I know of. I can't find much data on the 700. One place I did read that the 700 was a custom ordered 800 with upgrades in every area. Cheers.

I have a pair of Aristocrats and picked up a single Marquis recently. I also have one of the XT1 transformers and was thinking of trying to hook up the three the way the XT1 diagram shows.Would be nice if the XT1 could be hooked up between the Pre and Amp so I could use a 3 channel amp. Really hard to find much info on the XT1, a wiring harness was mentioned to be available for hookup (EV Model 511) but can't find anything on that either.

Follow up: Well, i just gave it a listen. Clean, detailed sound. Reminded me a bit of Klipsch Heresy with a tad less bass. I suspect the real low end for the 850 is about 75 to 85 Hz down about half. The Heresy is down about half at 65, so meh . . . Both need a sub to get deep bass. But, I hasten to add, the EV Stereon 850 sound better than the Heresy to me. Less dry. More nuanced. A bit sweeter. I know. I know. So subjective! Anyway, I will probably use it as a center speaker and the Heresys as L and R front in a surround sound setup. I expect to kick arse with concert bluerays with this setup. Maybe a nice sub just handling 20 to 60 Hz and some very solid bookshelf drivers for the rear.
If I had two I'd be tempted to just use them in a stereo rig with a nice sub kept low, maybe 20 to 85 or so. As I said, ythese sound like they go below 100. Perhaps 100 is where the coil starts to attenuate them. Or it could even be the half point. But they go lower.
It's too bad more of you cannot hear this sound. The Patricians must be some hellified loudspeakers if this has the same 3 upper drivers because the more I listen them less I find fault with and the more I am falling in love. Really beautriful, powerful, delicate loudspeakers. Just played "some One To Love" mono mix from 45. And Grace Slick's vocals are to die for!

Just picked up a pair of Savard low frequency cabinets. About 4' ported cabinet and 15" woofer. Not quite at the same level, but a very solid 75 lb each. And similar sound to EV and Klipsch. I will probably pair them with Heresy (Left,Right), Stereon 850 (Center) and use mainly as a music system with a low power class a valve amp.
