Electronics supply store recommendations?

I live in Los Angeles County, and would like to find an electronics supply store either in L.A., Orange county or even the I.E. a store that would have caps, switches and other items needed to do a rebuild, any recommendations?

Nothing left brick and morter in my area. There used to be a dozen or more repair shops. I used to buy parts from several. I even worked for a parts whole sale parts house that supplied parts for 4 counties. I knew a lot of the techs in those shops. Now there is one shop that does warranty work on flat screen TV's.
I buy almost all my parts now from Mouser and Digikey. You know you'll be getting the real deal, not Chinese fake parts like what's found on ebay, etc.
 
I visited my bother in OC earlier this year, and as I was there only for a couple of days, we went to Mar-Vac Electronics in Costa Mesa to get some solder and flux, and to see on the off-chance if they had some other parts we needed for a repair. I was amazed by what they stocked. We were able to get what I considered fairly obscure parts such as small signal transistors (MPSA42, which we pre-identified as a replacement for 2SC333) and thermal fuses in the right rating for a soft-start circuit, all by asking at the counter, and retrieved from stock in the back. While they are not going to have the enormous depth of stock/choice that the big supply houses have, they may well have what you need. Worth a try.
 
Apex Jr. in Torrance (1450 W 228th St #4, Torrance, CA 90501) might have some things, haven't been there in years. With the closure of All Electronics in Van Nuys, there is little remaining in LA.

Fry's was probably the last place where you could walk in and buy some stuff in Vegas. Maybe there's still one in LA?
 
Digikey, Mouser are my first choices. Then Newark, Then RS online (formally Allied) due to them holding up order without any updates. And then Arrow due to them having the worse search engine and their weird way of shipping packages from different warehouses. I tend to order larger quantities to get cheaper per item prices and its nice to have stuff for future projects handy. Ordering individual parts only as you need them is way more expensive but if you are only plan on doing one unit its going to cost more.
 
There's Master Electronics in Santa Monica. 1301 Olympic Blvd. From their website it appears to like Mouser & Digikey. Not sure if they have a walk in store.

This will be my next visit,BTW I visited Mar-Vac in. Costa Mesa, they have ample supply of almost everything you would need for repairs or rebuild, its a nice store and the. prople are very helpful, thanks to everyone that responded.

It's a genuine Hole-In-The-Wall place. Last time I was there a guy named Mike owned the place, and ran the counter. It's been about seven years since I moved. and I hope they're still open. Another huge resource in SoCal is the "TRW Swap Meet" in Redondo Beach in the Northrup-Grumman parking lot. Last Saturday of the month, IIRC....
 
When I first moved to Munich in 1997 there was a section of downtown near the main train station that was filled with small electronic/electrical supply shops and you could find anything there. Sadly they are all gone now, replaced by peepshows and pizza joints.
