Elusivity

Had a cassette back in the mid 80's, Mahavishnu orchestra, can't remember the album title but remember the track Radioactivity.......can't find anything about it anywhere

A Vertigo “swirl” album....
I’ve yet to own a “swirl” LP, and have yet to ever come across one “on the hunt.”
Just wanna watch that “swirl” go round n round.

Yes the thrill of the hunt is nice but not if we cheat ourselves and die first. When I saw your post I was going to show you a photo of around 6 pink labels, and also let you know there is a complete box set of that concert as well as a standard reissue.

For me, it isn't a musical recording but a movie. When I was maybe twelve or thirteen -- which puts this around '77 or '78 -- there was a B movie in semi-regular late night TV rotation in central Canada where I grew up. The plot revolved around a passenger plane crash on a semi-deserted island, in which the survivors discover -- through means which I've forgotten -- that they're not actually survivors but, I think, dead and in some sort of limbo, which a character describes as being "the bombs of Heaven" or "bonds of Heaven" or perhaps "the bounds of Heaven".

It was distantly the same idea as the much more recent "Lost" series, but considerably cheesier. Since then I've wanted to get a copy of it -- or at least see it again -- because for various reasons I never managed to watch it to the end. I'd like to know how it turns out. But, alas, I've not been able to find it. Anyone recognise it?

It has the hit Spring Garden On Fire on it, but none of the albums containing that song that I have seen have the others - they are various compilations. Super-lively reggae-like music with righteous lyrics. A friend had it on cassette, iirc, and I have never seen another copy. I have another 'Rebel Soca' album, but it is a compilation of various artists, not the Ras Isley album.

Perhaps what you're looking for is his "Spring Garden On Fire" album???
There are 4 used copies available via Amazon.

I've noticed that records which I will call "Stoner records' are very hard to find used in good shape. Add to that the double LP odds of twice as many sides to screw up and you are scrooged. Any good "Party" record has high odds of rough treatment. I first noticed this looking at CD's in the thrifts. Any Tool, Metallica, or Rap cd was just rat-****ed (if it was even in the case)...
 
Strawberries used to come in those little green baskets, and there were flats of 6 baskets you could get cheap during the season. People would swap berries all the time. The snap-closure clamshells have put an end to that.
 
This may seem like anelusivity, but i find myself prone to picking up a copy of a certain LP every time I move to a new locale.

I'm pretty sure I have at least one copy of "The Crazy World of Arthur Brown" and The Monkees "Head" in storage in 2 states in addition to the copies I have here.

I hope I'm not the "Typhoid Marty" of Elusivity.
 
In my case the word elusivity means never existed. A local New Jersey band (Fun House) released their only album (Hazardous to your health), originally on cassette. Shortly after, with all the chaos of the PMRC, the cassettes were pulled off the shelves and replaced with an edited (bleeped out) CD. I have the CD and there's only one bleep on the entire thing. But, it sure bothers the heck outta me. Wish there was an unedited version to be had.
 
Mine is the early Stones recording, I’ve found most of the Beatles, Three Dog Night and Credence originals in pristine shape...plus so many greatest hits albums from the sixties. I have a perfect copy of the twelve inch in-a-god-a-da-vida single....but no early Stones !!!
