Hi, I have posted a long thread recently about my quest to eliminate acoustic feedback between my new subwoofer and Empire 598:

I am happy to announce that I finally found very simple mod to the suspension that eliminates 20Hz feedback to virtual zero:
- take off damn felt washers from the springs! (and metal ones with them, of course)
I have read about this mod before, but was skeptical about trying it as reportedly it also makes TT more prone to footfalls. Not that I have stabilized my rack, I felt emboldened ... and it works like a charm!
20Hz feedback is gone.
Side note: spring suspension works best when the rest of the support is most rigid. Silicone feet/foam stabilizer platforms, etc only increase feedback.

Good to hear you solved your problem. Luckily I'm not having any problems with feedback noise like howling, or other oscillating sounds, just subsonic woofer pumping. So far I have the filter board that can be configured for 25,20,18 and 15hz. I'm still trying to decide between several dual power supplies though.

Hz, I assume ... I try to not use extra subsonic filters when I can get away with it, as they do change the sound ...
 
Yes HZ. It's fixed. I don't like adding extra to the signal chain either, but I don't have anyother place to put my system so a filter it is. I had a LAB-500 I had bought new that no matter what I did or where I placed the thing it would howl and pump the woofers at volumes turned about 10:00 on the volume control.
The only thing I didn't try was a filter back then. I wound up just going back to my cheaper plastic semi auto Technics deck.

Extra filter is fine when it's in the sub only. But then you may want to turn it off when listening to digital.
