Hi, I have had a pair of Energy ESAT-2 speakers with rotten foam surround for a while.
I ordered a surround repair kit for them as well. My question is upon disassembling the speakers there was a significant amount of glue holding the speaker basket to the front of the enclosure and some glue on the back side to hold the nuts in place. This glue is very similar to fugitive (booger) glue found on the back of credit cards.
Would this glue need replacing to stop some vibrations or could it be they used it to help in the manufacturing process.
Since this glue is not readily available, would something like rubber cement do the job?
