England Swings!

That song was so popular at the time I could write down the lyrics. Roger Miller had some of the best songs. Dang Me.

Well yeah but don't try singing it when you're roller skating in a buffalo herd.

This is what search assistant says about roller skating in a buffalo herd. This is for real.

Search Assist

"You cannot roller skate in a buffalo herd because the environment is unsuitable, with uneven ground and the unpredictable nature of the animals posing significant safety risks. It's best to find a smoother, safer location for roller skating."

okay, now that I have that song stuck in my head, I hope there was a good reason for dredging it up....

Nope, just kind of popped into my head. :D I'm sure it was the easiest song for me to memorize, ever, after just one time hearing it.

And let's not forget "Chug-A-Lug". Burns your tummy, don't ya know? My friend and I used to sing that line and laugh our heads off. In contrast to "England Swings", its lyrics are almost impossible to memorize.

My father was more of a 40's/50's music guy, but somehow he became aware of RM right around King Of The Road time, and he bought the LP o_O:oops:o_O

As a pre-teen, and hearing it on WBZ-AM all the time, I thought it pretty cool, in rotation on our Westinghouse (tube) record player often. Probably even worked out some of the tunes back then as I was starting into guitar.

When we cleaned out the house, after he went into nursing care and my Mom into assisted living, there were no records to be found. I suspect he must have peddled them off during his flea-market phase.:confused:
