Epicure Model 2.0...any thoughts?

My speakers are finished. I left them with a local Ak'er last Friday for refoam, recap and new felt backing on the surface beghind the grilles. He called today (Wednesday). I'll post "after" pics as soon as I pick them up and get them hooked up for a listen.

I can't tell you how jealous I am right now.

I listened to them last night and all of the drivers work. They didn't sound bad at all, even without the surrounds on the woofers. I didn't turn them up, just checked to hear if they all worked. The seller has probably been playing them for years without the surrounds. They said they didn't play them very loud.
My question is how do I get them out of the cabinet? The tweet and the passive have screws exposed on the front. I cannot see how the woofer is installed. There are no screws that I can see from the front. Any ideas?

Carl, you beat me to this one. I found the add the next day and the nice gentlman that answered the phone said I was 24 hrs too late. I'm sure once they are refoamed you will be more than happy with them. I have a set of the 20+ and a pair of 100's I believe thats the model anyway and they all sound terrific. Enjoy

I hooked up the 2.0's earlier this evening and they sound very good. The guy who refoamed them was amazed and he's heard hundreds of different speakers. He checked all of the caps and said they were all in spec. He was surprised at the complexity of the crossover for a 2 way speaker. There is a schematic on the Human website. He told me somebody put some real thought into the design of these.
I listened to Return to Forever's Romantic Warrior and now Steel Dan's Aja on vinyl and these Epicure's will definitely get a long audition in the main system. They have such a big speaker sound for a not so big speaker. They image very well and are very detailed. What they lack in the very low end is taken care of by my sub.

Should I take it easy on them, volume wise, to give the new surrounds a break in period, or is it okay to blast away?

Photos will be posted soon, but it's too dark in here tonight.

Hi Don,
Yeah, these are sweet. The next time you're on this side of town, give me a call and stop by for a listen, and a cold one. These were about a mile from my house, from the original owner. I called the morning the ad was listed and bought them at noon, during my lunch break.
I can't believe that John finished them already. He did a nice job on the felt too.

Here are the pics of my refoamed and "felt up" Epicure 2.0's

Congrats. This thread is slowly pushing me towards refoaming my pair. I have a pair of epi-400s that need the same foam...and just enough for both speakers. I was saving the 2.0 foam in case I screwed up one of the 400s, but now I'm not so sure. Too many Epis, not enought time!

As I stated the 2.0 is a cut above in the Epicure line which is the premium line in the EPI group. The 2.0 is one fine speaker. The 3.0 is one of the speakers that made a permanent impression on me along with a single Quad ESL (driven by DB Systems gear) and the Magnaplanars. The DQ-10 was not one of the three speakers that I'll remember the first time I heard them and thought they were above the crowd. So the 2.0, a bit less bass but that Epicure tweeter is a fine performer. I would repair these well before I did the 400.

Yepper....

For the record, these are the speakers to which I thought the OP had refererred:

Those are what I have in my puter room closet right now. God I need a dedicated 2 channel room in the worst way.
