Hey Fellow AKer's,

Can anyone out there make heads or tales out of any of this? I picked it up at an Estate sale auction, I figured it was worth $2.50 I seen at least 2 6v6 tubes and alot of 6SN7 gtb'S not sure what the speaker is other than a 12 full range I'm assuming.

This looks kinda like an old Baldwin Organ amp. Couldn't tell you more, not an expert. Doesn't look like anything out of a Hammond.

The small thing with the single tube and a transformer is the power supply for the field coil in the speaker.

I'm thinking thats more likely a jukebox amp or some sort of similar distributed sound thing. Rather massive chassis whatever it is.

Power supply (PS transformer + rectifier) is my guess.

Power Supply from a Hammond Organ. I have one identical to that that came from a Hammond Chord Organ. Got a boatload of black plate 12AU7 RCA's out of it.

Larryderouin, This particular unit had a boat load of 6sn7GTB and 6sn7's. What different electronics use these tubes?

According to my 1964 ARRL Radio Amateurs Handbook: 6sn7 is a medium-mu, dual triode. Octal base with an amplification factor of 20. Sort of like a primitive 12AX7. Larry can certainly tell you more.

lots of amps use 6sn7's and their variants (6sn7GTB's). Eico's, Allen's, loads of old guitar amps and a host of other devices.

12au7 is a minature tube where a 6sn7 is OCTAL. They do the same thing in that they are used in preamps, etc. for line stages, etc. Think 40's vs. late 50's.

Yep, essentially a 12AU7, though some say the 6SN7 sounds better. The 6CG7 is a more closely related to the 6SN7, and those can be subbed for a 12AU7 if you rewire the socket. Lots of TV sets used a 6SN7 for vertical oscillators, and I'm guessing they might be used as oscillators on the organ as well.
