Ever-expanding collection, how about a NYC swap meet?

Let's have a NYC gathering, won't we - but my place cannot accommodate it yet! Subway access preferred.

Sounds like fun. I’d suggest after the holidays when we’re back to our normal schedules.
Are you thinking to rent a venue, and we bring systems to demo, sell stuff etc…

There is a UU church on 35th near Madison with small and a large rooms. IDN rent details but could get a contact if there is interest.

H E L L O F O L K S ! So just a bit late, but what's a year and a half among friends! Venue to be discussed, I had Park Slope and vicinity in mind, Midtown might be more complicated. Summer is upon us, and I do have a lot of extra gear - not to be construed as dumping, but reasonable negotiation, from lame AVR receivers (even if Marantz!) to the tenebrous turntable (e.g. VPI's first-issued HW19) to the original AR speakers (I think I'll sell the 3A, not the 3 models). Got my drift? So let's get some esprit de corps, i.e. get our noggins together and plan this, shall we?

I would be interested. Midtown space is costly and does congestion price apply to a s weekend? The UU church on 35th and park might be available but not sure.

Just a suggestion, seriously, if a few of you subway bound members were to rent a car for the day ($100 between 4-5 people..) you could come to a swap meet already established in a gorgeous setting with lots of other members. No rental to find or anything...

It's taking place on Saturday June 15th. there will be demos, records for sale, equipment to buy and sell, and lots of fun which includes food.

Here's the link...please consider joining us... @Ds2000 lives in the city I believe so maybe he would also be interested in this idea.

These are the AK links:

A gorgeous drive (less than 60 minutes on a Saturday from midtown) and a great event that seems a lot like what you folks are looking for.
