at about midnite tonght, I was listening to the stereo pretty loud and couldn't hear the explosion about 3-4 miles away, but my friends living about 15 miles away heard it and it shook their house....I was lost in a lucinda williams live recording with all kinds of subsonic bass in it and thought it was part of the live concert...anyway they rang me up and and informed me of an explosion that I didn't know about it....well I turned down the stereo and heard a continuous roaring and then went outside and saw a fireball with streamers going up hundreds of feet in the air and a noise that shook me....the noise continued for about 1 1/2 hours, sticking my head out the back door every 10 mins or so and looking in a general northerly direction.....thank god its quiet and dark out there now....still no news on the radio or tv or even googling on the internet....the city manager was in his office and couldn't get through to any emergency personell, so gave up and went home, presuming, as I, that the gas company would eventually shut off the line. I took a movie of it but it overwhelmed my camera and you only can see the bottom of the fireball....looks like a rising sun in the video.....will be on the news tommorow.....I guess I have something extra to be thankful for this thanksgiving, in that the explosion occurred away from town, as our little town of 180 people has a similar gas line supply to it.....edd
