I used an electrical cleaning spray on some faders and it has broken one of them. Taking a look inside the fader it seems that the solvent disintegrated the most worn parts of the track at the top and bottom, so the fader just measures infinite resistance between pins, but the rest of the carbon track still works.
I couldn't find a replacement available on Digikey or Mouser annoyingly, even though it's not exactly a vintage part. The unit in question is an Alesis Multimix 12.
Is it possible to restore the carbon trace somehow?
