Fall in New England - Time for another Epic FrankenFest!

Yes, absolutely - 100% on, good to go in Walpole.
Start packing the car ...

This is just a few days off - this coming Saturday ‼️

For those that are looking to sell keep in mind that almost everyone who attends is likely to have some pretty nice "kit" as they say.
So everyone is seeking unique or "value priced" items.

Items priced with eBay as a guide may be following you home.

Hi, I am a maybe. I am doing the ALS walk with Don's team of family and friends. It starts at 11 and should wrap up around 1:30-2:00 pm. I will have to see how I'm feeling. My back has been very uncooperative the last few months.

The ALS walk takes place at Carson Beach -- just a half hour drive from the Walpole location in case anyone is interested.

Here is the team donation page fyi:

I'm going to check this out. I was also thinking of possibly bringing some gear. How many demo rooms are generally setup?

Usually as many as happen to be available. Room availability tends to be variable from show to show. Since this one is a different location than usual, I don't know what it's set up like. Hopefully, Brian can fill us in.

Jim and I just did a recon mission. He will post pics and layout suggestions.

FYI, we will use the 1st floor suite, not the 3rd floor. Will make it easier on everyone.

As Brian mentioned - we'll be using the first floor area.

The third floor area would have cool but it's at the end of a long narrow hallway, has debris strewn about and was very dusty.

The first floor however is in great shape and has extremely easy access.

First off - everyone needs to sign a simple release before unloading their goodies.

We usually get started at about 11am - don't plan on arriving before 10am as the place will be locked up tight. We should be fine around 5-6 pm.

Initial access will be through the door with the big "85" above it. After you sign in you'll be able to use the other front door.

If you are selling or setting up gear you should bring tables and a chair - there's nothing in there for our use.

Also bring an extension cord and a power strip.

There are basically 5 rooms:

1- The kitchen area (with a small side room). Let's use this primarily for food. There's an area just to the left of the doorway for the "FREE" area. If your free stuff doesn't get taken you must take it back with you. If the space is needed we can also put some smaller for sale items in here.

2- The front room. This room has a hung ceiling and carpeting - let's use this as a shared listening / demo area. The restrooms are adjacent to this room and we should be good on TP and supplies.

3- The backroom. Let's use this as our main for sale area.

4- Front and rear side rooms. Smaller demo areas. Likely we'll need to share these rooms as space is limited.

Parking is plentiful - let's use the area to the right of the main entrance and in front of the other door for loading.

FOOD - everyone needs to contribute something. Drinks - snacks - cups - plates - etc.
If necessary we can pass the hat and order up some pizzas from a local joint.

As always - no one is making money on this event, we have virtually no staff - it's all based on the AK good karma lifestyle.

And - "All audio - no attitude"!

Nice work, Jim and Brian! Is this the same space we used a few years ago, the last time we held one of these in Walpole? Seems rather similar, at the least.

Yes - the same space.
While I love the space in Clinton the downside is that some people don't make it to the little hidden spots. Here it's more open.

Wow - just 3 days to go - I'm going to have to start staging the gear in the living room and the garage!

Glad to see that my memory isn't failing me. :) By the way, you should update the floor info in the first post of this thread, as well as the BT thread. Don't need anyone going up three floors, only to find an empty space (or set off an alarm ). Can't wait!

I'll probably be coming afternoon and with girlfriend in semi-willing tow. Funny we switched to the old Walpole space. Last time I brought a girl to one of these things it was there, and also happened to be my 30th birthday way back then.

I might come down to check out the FrankenFest. Another AKer said this would be a good event for a newbie to attend and get some advice.
