I manage two leagues. One is a 1/2 PPR redraft league and the other is a best ball league. We have the same 12 “owners” in each league. I have team structure and points as similar as possible so it doesn’t get too confusing.
We started the BB league last year as an experiment. Each team puts up $10 and the winner gets $100 and last place gets $20.
Our regular league is mostly family and we initially put up $50 each and charge $1 for every trade, acquisition, or placing a player in a single IR spot. Our teams are what I would call traditional- QB, 2RB,2WR,1TE,1FLX,1DST,&1K. To keep DST &kicker spots relevant, we have a separate pot for highest single game DST score & highest Single game kicker score. We also include a high single game overall score prize. That pot is all of the $1’s collected from trades & acquisitions and split 3 ways. The intent with all of the payouts is to keep people interested and have several ways to win some money. We even have a “playoff” of the bottom teams that didn’t make the playoffs. I call it the cream of the crap prize.
Best ball draft is next weekend. We don’t make a big deal of that draft and give longer time between picks. Last year I had to pause it overnight. The other league is set for 09/03.. We have a party and in years past used to do a complete offline draft. No online picks. You had to print out cheat sheets and manually enter the picks into the system. We would have a big board with my wife playing the Vanna White role. We usually have some football related prizes for various things and of course good food and libations. I would play in a league here if you started one.

Very cool. I'm envious you can get your wife involved, and I like the way you kept everything traditional and then added cash prizes for DST, K, and cream of the crap (lol). I have never experimented with BB or daily. I've been playing for about 20 years and never even did redraft/keeper. Resistant to change and comfortable with the old style.
I'm commissioner for a 12 team 0.5 pt PPR, and a regular manager in a 10 team full point. I've never done 3 leagues at the same time, but I'm game if we can round up more AKers. We would have to get on it. How are you on recruiting?

Probably a little late to try to organize a league here. It looks like there was an official league at one time, but no activity in the thread for years.

I tried to use that to my advantage by mapping out the ADP rankings for each round and trying to get guys with upside potential. I think I did pretty good. Full roster is below.

We had our regular family league draft on saturday. I had the 4th pick. Team looks similar to the Best Ball roster. We added an IR spot during Covid and team owners liked it. I drafted Brian Robinson ( he’s the RB that was shot), put him in the IR slot and grabbed Julio Jones. Pickings pretty slim after the draft is over. I figure Julio might have something left in the tank and if nothing happens in a few weeks, I’ll drop him.
You're rosters are constructed well. How high did you need to go to snag Andrews? I planned on doing the Brian Robinson thing, but I don't usually draft shot up rookies! I like players like Rhamondre and Gainwell.

I selected Andrews in The 2nd rd. A lot of RB’s and all of the elite WR’s were taken. I was pretty sure Aaron Jones would be there on my 3rd pick just 7 picks later, but I knew Andrews would be taken.

I also have my ranking and guys I would like to get tagged on the cheatsheet. Drafting at pick 4 meant my 2nd pick wouldn’t come around for 17 picks. If someone I wanted was ranked by ADP to go before my next pick, then I reached for them. I always have trouble with QB since I like to wait, but others in the league will start a QB run. I was wanting Jalen Hurtz, but someone grabbed him early. I was able to get Wilson and am happy( so far) with that decision.

I lost to my sister last week. Espn kept projecting me to win ( 83% at one point), but Pat Mahomes wasn’t having any of that. She had Mahomes & Cooper Kupp- 85 points between them. All I needed was 42pts from Wilson &Sutton. One stinkin TD pass would have done it.
This week is starting rough. I’m playing my other sister and she has Herbert at QB. He scored 35 on Thursday. I’m not panicking yet…

When your fantasy team is doing well, it’s a fun game. When you’re not doing so well, it sucks balls. My team is 3& 4. According to ESPN projections, I was expected to outscore my opponent in every matchip. So much for those projections. Espn & Fantasy Pros both list my team as #1, but my record is tied for 7th. I am in 1st place in my Best Ball league, but only ahead by about 50 points. So there is a silver lining.
I won this week. I’m 4-4. Finally had a couple of guys outperform their projections. Outscored my nephew by 103pts. He said he might “rage drop” a lot of players. I’ll be checking the waiver drops early. I dropped Russell Wilson two weeks ago and have been playing Geno Smith. I grabbed Daniel Jones, but am trying to drop him for Justin Fields who is available. I have six people ahead of me and am pretty sure they have other needs before QB. We have a 5 way tie for 1st (5-3), 2 way tie for 6th(4-4), and a 5 way tie for 8th(3-5).

I’m currently ( through week 11) tied for 4th place at 6-5. We have a 3 way tie for first at 7-4. This week I scored 111 pts and my opponent scored 97. All great except she has Pat Freiermuth left to play. It has been my experience that when in a close matchup, the lone player left on the other team will have the best game of the season. Freiermuth averages about 8 pts a game. With my luck, he should score 25. Top six teams make the playoffs in our league and there’s only 2 weeks left. I need to win at least one of these last 3 weeks and I should make the playoffs.
I was able to get Justin Fields and rode him for a couple of weeks until he was injured. I played Geno Smith this week and picked up Deshaun Watson for possible playoff usage or trade bait. Hope I win tonight because the next two weeks are tough.

I know what you mean. I was worried that I would watch football differently, but As a Saints fan, I would never root for a Falcons player during a matchup. Some lines you don’t cross. I do watch differently, but I’m also familiar with more teams and players. I get all of the NFL games each week and bounce between games that I have players on my fantasy teams. I usually watch Saints games without switching, but since Brees and Payton retired, some games it’s better to just find something else to watch.
I don’t avoid home team players, but several in our league will put a slightly higher value on Saints or former LSU players. The first overall pick in our draft was Alvin Kamara. Same team currently has NO DST, Will Lutz, & Jarvis Landry. There are a few players I just don’t like. Tom Brady is one. I never wanted him on a fantasy team even though he has been good for fantasy over the years. I was listening to a sports show recently and one of the announcers mentioned “the Goat”. The other announcer said “ he may be the winningest QB of all time, but definitely not the greatest” - my sentiments exactly.
I had a very frustrating start and went 1-5, before I turned it around and will be 5th seed in the playoffs at 8-6. 10 team PPR no TE.

My daughter’s BF was 6-7 along with 4 other teams last week and he’s the only one who won. He went from 10th place to 6th and is bottom seed in the playoffs. He beat our top seed twice this season and is in her bracket. If he wins this week, he’ll have to beat her a 3rd time.
My chances are good. I like my team better than my opponent’s, but he has Josh Allen & Justin Jefferson and lots of points are possible. I’m hoping Stevenson is not too banged up to play this week. He’s been a difference maker. Brian Robinson has been breaking out a bit recently and I’m OK if I have to play him.
Early in the draft, I waited on WR and was able to get AJ Brown late in the 4th. I thought there would be better options at WR than RB later on and I have been struggling a bit with a second WR.

I didn’t make it past the first rd in our fantasy playoffs. Too many dud performances from the stud players. QB Geno Smith 15pts, RB Aaron Jones 3.5pts, Mark Andrews 5.5pts, Rhamondre 3pts, Denver DST -3pts, & K Nick Folk -2pts. I lost by 60pts.

I didn't make it past 1st round either. Taylor gets hurt on first play of the game and Pacheco gets benched for a measly fumble that didn't even hurt them. It was a messed up year all in all. Of course I'll be back in August trying to figure it out all over again.
Having a trophy party on Saturday. I have to pay everyone. I noticed something that I had not noticed before. We have a 12 team league and 6 teams make the playoffs. The bottom 6 teams enter the espn consolation ladder during weeks 15-17. After everything is complete, espn ranks the teams. They treat the consolation ladder like a playoff and final rankings are based upon how well you did in the consolation ladder. Our 7th place team ended up in 12th place and our 12th place team ended up in 7th. I thought the bottom 6 teams were ranked solely on their regular season records. As commissioner, I can rearrange the final standings. The only thing at stake is next year’s draft order. One of the orders of business to resolve before next year.
