I have been having issues with my HH Scott 370R amp, the left channel does not work properly, neither in the 'B' or 'A' speaker configurations. I sometimes play music through my alexa dot, my CD player, or my turntable... more on that below
The Problem:
When I turn the amp on, the music seems/is uniform. As time goes by, say 15 minutes to 40 minutes (depends), the left channel is either significantly quieter (especially when playing the alexa dot), or very distorted (typically when listening to CDs), or more often than not a combination of the two. This particular receiver has both left and right power meters, so you can actually see the discrepancy between left and right output, often times I can crank the balance to the left and turn the volume knob all the way up and still have virtually no sound coming from left channel, or just distorted crap. All these issues are temporarily fixed if i turn the unit off then back on, only for time to bring the problems back.
Looking for some potential solutions.. I drive KLH model 5s, its not the speakers as I have switched the wires.
FYI - I bought (overpaid but I wanted it) this unit recently from a guy who sells and fixes amps. He cleaned the power switch, did some minor maintenance/cleanup etc. but it is not recapped or anything special, but it should be noted its not a thrift shop find
