As a footnote. They played the 100 Anniversary concert in OKC last year and got booed. They were the only non-country band representing Oklahomans and I was embarrassed for the city in general. One of the saddest things I've ever seen. Glad I left many years ago.

If you have no Lips start with "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots" and go from there.

Ahhh -- I don't think I missed the point BUT ...

I slam Crime of the Century or Sticky fingers on the table and people say wow....

Now for lovers of other genres --- Eva Cassidy NEVER ceases to amaze-- especially her rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Guess I would say -- there are a few lp's that please ---

IF I had to nail it down to one ---
it might be Stevie Nicks Belladonna -- one of the Japanese pressings.
but I digress ....

Very cool stuff Caladon.. but the visuals and all as you unpack the music.... Showing off the cover, inner sleeve. the sound.. the whole package...
 
I sold my show-off piece about 10 years ago. It paid my college loans. !st state butcher cover as near-mint as they get. Still hurts to get out any Beatles LP.

Funny thing, I just realized --- I don't talk much about my musical tastes here, mostly just components and audio --

I've been beyond eclectic in my musical journey --- and my LP's show it---

I also find the early UFO years outstanding -- Michael Shenker and UFO's -- Lights Out as an example.

Again I digress, and sorry to hijack the thread --- :smoke:
 
NOW you understand.. that tubes album is so great... that's the art I'm trying to talk about.. the whole experiance.. kinda an Andy Warhal type thing, but we can't includ the VU just because of that.,.. I'm trying to bring out the other sleepers..
 
Man, if you're going to pick a Tubes album then go with "What Do You Want From Live". The Tubes live and raunchy with a record liner you could look at for hours.

My current favorite is John Cale's Circus Live. Heavy vinyl, limited pressing, awesome live show, and the cover art is probably the best I've ever seen.

Great acid-folk (or whatever you want to call it): "Beer Shits" (I can't figure out why this got *no* airplay); "Stolen Guitar", and my favorite, "Let Me Down" -- a take on the Crucifixion that separates the secular humanists from the faithful every time...

I have my original copy from college in the early 70's and recently picked up a better (less played) copy at a garage sale.

Well...either Little Feat "Waiting For Columbus" or "Aja" gets the call.
CD demo? Either Steely Dan "Two Against Nature" or about anything by Annie Lennox.
Can't wait to get my home refurb done (or close) so I can
A) Troubleshoot the Fisher
B) Fix the horn on one of the Model 15s
C) Put a new spike in the Dual
And demo some TUBE power!
 
Pick 1 album only for my sole listening pleasure on a deserted island for an indefinite stay? - The White Album.

(I could of went with Sgt Pepper or Abbey Road as well, but the White Album is a double LP. Then again if I'm on this deserted island with Carmen Electra then make it anything by Barry White.:thmbsp:)
 
Okay. I'm in on this one. Savoy Brown - Hell Bound Train LP. The whole Lp is good, Hell Bound Train is fav song. The ending will catch most off guard. The artwork is interesting.:thmbsp: I guess this would be a show off system Lp for my taste.
