Finally a "score"

As a avid 2nd generation HiFi collector I've came across some unbelievable yard sale and thrift shop fines especially in the high dollar Naples and Marco Island (FL) area a few minutes south of me. While this certainly isn't my best find it ranks up there and my first real good find in the last 15 years so. I came across this lot from a old second hand junk dealer in a local flea market. Haven't gone through it all yet, but everything was brought up slow on variac and no surprises yet! The 8500MKII will get a complete refurb from top to bottom including real wood veneer and will go into my collection along side my other completely refurbed "monster recievers" (sx1250, sx1280, kr9600 and Toshiba Sa7100).
The Cr800 and sx750 both hold steady idle current and sound clean in both channels but that is all ive gotten into at this point. Here is what I got for a "few bucks"..lol

2. Yammy CR800 very clean, excellent wood case
3. Pioneer sx750
4. HK PM660
5. Beovox speakers
6. Mint STA 2500

I had a similar Onkyo TX-6500 mkii and loved it, very under-the-radar and they look incredible. All are great finds however!

I am a big fan of the older Onkyo gear, excellent build quality and I love the cosmetics on this line of receivers. I just recently did a complete overhaul on a 4500

The big boy was the only one I didn't get on the bench. Tonight popped case of to give a good visual inspection and disappointment right of the bat. All output transistors on left channel are missing this solidified my mind she will definitely be getting a complete overhaul time to sort some parts

The CR 800 and SX 750
Both got serious baths and complete cleaning and lubrication of the switches and potentiometers. After letting each run for 5 plus hours they both hold idle current dead on spec with no drifting and more importantly sound pretty sharp. Not sure what I'm going to do with these yet maybe give them to my son-in-law

Good scores, especially the Onkyo. If I remember right dual power supplies in it.

I have a CR-800 and TX-4500 Mk II. I like the style of that generation Onkyo, they look really nice in the dark.

My lucky streak continues, I decided to stop by a huge goodwill outlet center (the type where everything is put into huge bins with no rhyme or reason and everybody digs through them) in a real shady area to try to find some shop lights. While scavenging through my second bin and about to walk out because everything seemed to be junk I saw the bottom of a turntable, nice Dual 604 w/grado cart. I kept digging and found a set of excellent condition bose 301's, set of Jamo bookshelves that sound great, and two Rotel 960bx amps. Whats even better is everything works and I paid under $100.
