Finally got some speakers!

I ended up getting a pair of Martin Logan Quests for a very nice price! The only problem is that I had to drive to Indy to get them, but I am glad that I did. They are wonderful!

So let's see some photos TS!

I'm intrigued with electrostatics. I have never owned any, nor heard any recently -- so I have forgotten how they sound. I'm thinking of acquiring some though. The Quests are very expensive aren't they?

Please excuse the mess, we are building a train set!

My brother was fascinated by them! He kept staring at the panels (and through them at his hand!) wondering where the sound was coming from! They are really crisp and clear.

Those are effing sweet! What great looking (and sounding I imagine) speakers! So what was the price on those? Considering they cost around $4,000 new back in 93', I expect you got a fantastic deal on them.

They look unscathed as well.

Nice addition!

Gratz on getting some real speakers! If they aren't the "Z" version, you need to keep an eye on your amps, they can dip to 2 ohms. The "Z" version drops to about 3.

He knows what he is talking about. My stats would drop below 2 ohms and finally chew up a BGW 750a. The second amp they have chewed in 15 years. Those Adcoms can handle some loads though.

Since nowhere in your profile do you tell anyone where you live, how do we know that it was a problem to drive to Indy? My wife does every day to go to work. Not trying to be sarcastic here, but Indy IS NOT a bad place to visit (or even to purchase speakers). Hope you had a great time and some good food while you were here. Obviously those beautiful speakers made the trip worthwhile.
