It is very difficult for others to know what you would like best.

I can rank your alternatives according to my own tastes, but that would probably be of little use to you. Still, here you go:

  1. Dynaco A25
  2. Boston A150
  3. JBL L100
  4. Technics (way behind the three above)
You will get many variations on the ranking, based on the preferences of other members. Like me, they are neither wrong nor right as regards which ones would be best for you.

What is your budget? I would guess that the speakers you listed have a wide range of prices. And what are you planning to use for amplification? How big is your listening space?

Be aware that when buying used speakers you will need to inspect them (by both eye and ear) to be sure all drivers are original and working, and that the speakers are making no unusual noises (rattling, buzzing, static, excess sibilance, etc). Also be aware that with older speakers that used foam surrounds, the surrounds may need to be replaced. And if they have electrolytic capacitors in their crossover networks (as most older speakers do), they have likely drifted from spec as a function of age. Replacement often improves sound quality quite noticeably.

Exactly!

Why have you narrowed the choice to those particular speakers?

So many variables not the least is personal preference. If it were me I'd choose the A150 first then the A-25s though depending on music and room might reverse the order. Wouldn't consider the Technics and never liked the L100s from when they were new although for rocking out, beer in hand, they could be first choice. Either of them would have to be in proper working order, or course.

Just to make sure: You're aware, that you'll still need some sort of receiver or integrated amp or pre-/power-amp combo in between the Technics turntable and the loudspeakers, are you?

As jayvis says, it depends. If all those speakers will cost close to the same to get into your living room, take the JBLs.

If the prices vary widely as they should, then that must be taken into account. You can probably find better speakers than any of these for the typical going rate of L100s.

If the prices don't vary widely, then either the JBLs are a screaming bargain or the seller of the Technics is insane.

For sound? I'd take the Bostons all day. (however, the foam woofer surrounds will cause pain sooner or later)

That being said, JBL You will be able to find parts and service if needed. The woofer surrounds are pleated cloth.

Keep in mind, I re-foamed an old set of Boston Acoustics A40 series II.... it was a labor of love and the result was tremendous...... and gratifying beyond words...

<my pic shows my affection for JBL BTW and I have earned money with most of my JBL's, they will always be special to me

Still here y’all, haven’t made a decision quite yet… JBLs was asking $1500 w/ stands. Don’t have a receiver either. Looking at the BC A150s tomorrow ask price 300. The Dynacos need some love they are 350, also came across a pair of pristine Bose 901 series 2 with EQ. So it’s still up in the air on which direction I lean. Also found some Advents for $250. On the receiver end leaning towards a Sansui QR-4500 or Pioneer. Still haven’t found anything promising there.

All in all looking like these Bose 901 Series 2 might take it, guy is only asking 300, he gave me a demo and they sound great, he’s running them through a Concept 2.5 receiver.
