Hey guys,

First time posting and beginning my first restoration project. I've got a lot to learn but I'm pretty excited about it. I'm a drummer, play a lot of different styles and listen to a ton of music. Really should have gotten into this whole speaker thing sooner but here I am. Anyway.....

After a long search I finally found my deal at a garage sale today:

I got a pair of speakerlab super 7s
an onkyo model A-7 amp
a kenwood kr-4070 receiver
and a phillips 312 turntable
all for $50
Now I have to learn how to fix and clean this stuff and I don't know anything about restoration. I've seen a couple of threads and videos so far. I also downloaded all of the owners manuals. I guess I'm just looking for any advise, links, suggestions, and all of your valuable wisdom haha. Seriously though, I could use any help to get me pointed in the right direction. It would be much appreciated.

Everything seems to work for the most part. The amp needs to be cleaned in order to tell if it works. All this stuff looks like it's been sitting in a garage since the 80s

Thanks guys, yea, a lot of work ahead. Im kind of worried about the condition of the speakers. Do they look salvageable?

Also, I need some pointing in the right direction for cleaning the amp and receiver. I bought some deoxtit d5 but as far as it goes internally, I'm not sure where to start and I don't want to damage anything further

No balance knob. I asked but the guy told me it was long gone.
 
Welcome! You definetly got your 50 bucks worth there...well done! Regarding the speakers...I'd be concerned about gunk getting into the voice coil gap of those lower woofers. Someone in the "Speakers" forum probably has a way to clean them out. Replacement dust caps are readily available and cheap & easy.
