First TT

:stupid: doh....

Of course it is we talked about that earlier in the thread!

I learnt a bunch about my Turntable(s) in the process of tweaking / adjusting and fixing.

To date I have not had to dismantle a pivoted arm. (although I did have to do some adjusting and cleaning of my Linear tracking arm on the Revox.... that was a bit of a challenge!)

With stuff as precise as arms it is often just a matter of cleaning...

Depending on the bearing design, when you put it back together you can sometimes improve the performance by adding a tiny touch of the right kind of heavy lubricant to the bearings...
The idea being to keep the arm moving smoothly and easily, but to provide a smidge of damping of high frequency vibrations at the bearing point....

One of many tweaks people add to their TT's

Also once you have confidence in being able to dismantle/remantle your arm, a range of other arm damping mods/tweaks become possible. (and these are the same things that frequently differentiate basic arms for top end megabuck arms.... and can sometimes be implemented for pennies)

Good luck with that

David
