First turntable: Sansui SR-717.....

Just won a Sansui SR-717 on fleabay for $70

It comes with a new Audio-Technica AT92E,

What can I expect for audio quality? and is there a standard needle people run with this turntable?

No standard needle, and the AT92E is fine for starters. It's a .3 x .7 elliptical and has gotten pretty good reviews here, so it's not bad. You may want to find something else later. See how it sounds when you get it.

Damn fine TT the SR-717.

I agree with Howard, you won´t be disappointed if you fit it with a better cartridge when you can afford it.

I think I'll be able to clean it up and give it a quick once over. It's my first turntable, so I'm at the beginning of the learning curve.

Well I'm hoping as a lover of turntables the seller packs that baby to make it here to Ohio,as I'd hate to see a fellow buckeye get a nice table destroyed with crummie packing.

Well one thing I hadn't noticed was it has RCA jacks on the back, which makes swapping cables a breeze.
