The 295 was built during the EMERSON ownership period, in Japan, probably by HITACHI under contract. I've got a couple of R.S. receivers that have the same look underneath, (boards, wiring layouts, workmanship, etc.). These are generally very good units in their wattage groups, solidly built, and conservatively rated. It's probably in the 20 to 35 watt range per channel. Mr. FISHER was still having his say during this era. And his German engineers still designing the gear, from what i understand.

Manuals and schematics for the later Solid state (post 70) gear are generally not going to be on the "free" sites. In that case $20.00 for a manual if you are going to do any work on it will pay itself off the 1st time you have to go in and dig a little. Try www.stereomanuals.com. His price for a REPRO is a couple $$ more than the 3rd generation or 5th generation photocopies on EBAY for the Same price. You get a bound packet that is equal to or better quality than most originals. AND they are highly legible, cleaned up (little black marks, etc that can screw up a capacitor size, etc) and the schematics are the original size on ONE SHEET, not 3-4 pages of mismatched hash.

For doing any work on them I highly recommend you getting the manual from stereomanuals.com. I've been getting mine from him for 6 years now and haven't had one yet that was even less than excellent. I have absolutely NO AFFILIATION with them, other than being a highly satisfied customer.
