Fisher 400/500/800 vs Dynaco ST-70/PAS

While the Fisher is good- the Dyna ST70 has world-class output transformers. It's very good in stock form, and can be made amazingly good.

And, the preamp section in a PAS "X" series, is just more transparent than a Fisher. Even before mods.

I think there's more potential in the Dyna gear- it's much more amenable to improvements, and the hard parts are higher performance to start with. There's a reason why Dyna became about the most popular tube gear in history...
