1964 Model 960 Executive IX console in Italian Provincial, Serial #: 9. Complete with 800C receiver, Ampex 1250 RTR, Garrard type A changer. Is 100% original and all components are un-restored, I even have manuals. However, there is damage to the cabinet. The legs are broken. 
, I got it this way, but I have all the wood pieces, and am considering how to approach cabinet restoration. The 800c will be restored first, then the Ampex, and then the Garrard. Currently this is on the back burner, with other restoration projects ahead of it, but it's time will come and the bird will fly and sing again.

Sabre. The cabinet serial # will be the same as the serial # on the 800c. On the back sheet it was rubber stamped. Mine's a '63 (identical cabinet, Italian Provincial) serial 10382. Your's should be in the 30,000 range.
Larry, what is the handwritten "9" on the label? You are correct about the SN on the 800C, 34869F. Date codes on RF coils suggest a late 1963 or early '64 build on the receiver. Any suggestions on dealing with the cabinet? Is it too far gone? The door is fine, and the right side is not as bad as this (left). Do you know any good cabinet people within a reasonable distance of Charlotte, NC?

Only person I know in Charlotte is my #2 son. You can strip out the guts (which a shop is going to have you do anyway) including the speaker baffles. It almost looks like someone had flipped it over, and took a 5lb. maul to the sides of the base and removed the legs that way. POOR CHOICE! Breaking off the dowels is never a good thing. IT can have the dowels drilled out, rejig and dowel, assemble the legs back on. the split on the lower door frame lip drilled and pinned (fill the hole and finish to blend), Glue and clamp the assemblies back on the cabinet with some judicious joinery. Check around on Google for Cabinet joinery or Cabinet restoration shops in Central N.C.
The 9? Looks like someone (probably a curtain climber) scribbled on the sheet at one time or another. The brownish discoloration under the "9" is about where the serial would have been stamped.

The legs were broken by movers. For now I'm going to sit on it, get to restoring the electronics after several other projects, then deal with the cabinet restoration. If you ever come to Charlotte to visit your son, let me know. Would love to show you my little shop, and what ever is on the bench at the time.

Thanks for the invite. Might drop in the next time I go to Pensacola to visit my brother. He's got stage 4 Lung Cancer with metastatsis thruout and has defied the quacks on the 1 year and in a hole thing. Going on 18 months now. Charlotte is a good mid point anyway for a rest.

Larry, we have dealt with a nutritionist that is known by name at the local Vitamin Shoppe for doing great things including curing a stage 4 breast cancer patient with only diet and supplements. She has also reduced a clogged artery by 30% in 6 months, again with nothing more than supplements. Might consider some alternate advice. Hope this helps and hope he continues to defy the quacks.
I just dug this Fisher console out of my mother's attic.She is 89 and she said she purchased it in the mid-fifties.It is very clean but,both speakers are missing and it has no stylus.There doesn't seem to be a ton of info on this model but,here are a few photos.I have no clue where i would find the correct speakers or stylus but,i certainly remember hearing records on it until it was retired and replaced with a Magnavox stereo console.Chassis # is 101.

Yeah,it's real clean.It's been in my mom's attic for decades!
Speakers back then were Jensen's. It's either a 12"(with a Tweeter separate) or a 15" Same as 12", or a 15" Co-Axial. Originals probably ended up in your brothers car back then( or maybe your's, but we won't tell!!). More than likely 16ohm, but 8 ohm is feasible.
