Dang

That is a sweet deal. The Fisher 800B is worth the asking price by itself. I wish it was near NYC.

That is a hell of a rig, complete with a baby 301 at that.

This?

It's a very minor quibble, but the meters on the tape deck look to be replacements and are jarring on the eye.

Hey, I can always find something to gripe about.:D

The ad is gone. I saw it last night, and it took all my willpower to not call. I had to keep thinking "I must downsize ... I must downsize ...."

The entire set-up would likely have needed a complete overhaul. Because of the story, it was probably worth more intact than in pieces. If it stays together (doubtful) it will make a great restoration project. If it comes apart someone might get a neat old cabinet for under $100.

This console is safe!

A local AKer was able to score this setup. He is going to be dropping by for some help getting everything tested and to plan the way forward getting the system up to snuff.

At least I get to play with it!!

Excellent news! :thmbsp:

I don't recall the model # of the r2r, but a google image search on it turns up a picture of a user manual showing the correct meters - brown bakelite, rounded corners, etc. Might be hard to find the exact ones, but I'm sure that frankenmeters could be made that would better suit the look of the thing.

The RTR setup is a Teac AR9c and AR9d.

Doesn't seem to be too much info out there on them. The Fisher is in beautiful shape but I need to get a new bulb for my dim bulb tester before we go any further.
