Fisher WS80 cap replacement

Replace them value for value, BI-Polar electrolytics. PartsExpress should have all the values needed.

Larry, attached is a picture of the electronics found in the bottom of each speaker. The taller units (1 on the left and 2 on the right) are heavier gauge wire...my guess for treble, mid and low range frequencies? Should these be replaced as well? Your assistance here is sincerely appreciated. Thank you, Steve

Just the black licorice tubes in the middle which are capacitors. They are known to be crap now.

You get one stop shopping @ partsexpress.com. Just remember that you are ordering for 2 spkrs so double the count.

One is 4uf 25v....................................Parts express # 027-330 $.53ea
Other is 25uf 25v...............................Parallel a 22uf and a 3.3 cap. Part # 027-348(22uf) AND Part # 027-328 (3.3uf)

The wire towers in the corners are inductors. They get left alone. The 3.9Ω 3W resistor, lift one end out of circuit and test for value. If off by 2-1/2% either way replace it. Part # 015-3.9

Larry, thank for this information and the education you have provided.
Larry, I received everything I ordered from Parts Express. Pulled the connection board from the speaker this evening and I missed a resistor that was under one of the caps. Per my research the colors on the resistor show it to be 6.8 ohms with +/- 5% tolerance. How do I determine how many watts it is? Found a replacement at Parts Express with the following description...”These metal oxide power resistors feature an excellent flame retardant coating and stable performance in diverse environments. Each resistor is 1 watt with a 5% tolerance. Package of 10 pieces.” I included a pic of the current resistor. It’s the one with the 2 gold bands, 1 gray band, and 1 blue band. Again, thank you for your feedback. Regards, Steve8446D44A-8FE8-4EEB-BEF5-9B40A778ECF3.jpeg

Disconnect one of the leads on the 6.8Ω. Test it. If it's within 2% +/- (6.66Ω to 6.93Ω) call it good. It looks to be a 1 w
