Flexy table design questions!

Yea I saw some garden washers on the HD website, looked more like o-rings really. Also, I am having trouble finding the end caps. I bought the 5/8 threaded rods.

Snap, O rings would probably be better! They are usually a higher quality of material than washers and might even look classier. The other thing is: how much are the washers or O rings actually adding to the rack, regarding sound isolation and does it matter? Not trying to be a wise guy, here, I'm actually curious about this and hope some builder has tried with isolation and without. My gut feeling is that using a shelf made of wood composites eliminates the need but I've been wrong before....June of 1972, IIRC :D.
