Fluke 116 dmm?

The only downside I see to it is the extremely low maximum current measurement capabilities it has.

That being said, I rarely if ever measure current directly with my DMM, so IMO it wouldn't be a terrible handicap.

Gotcha. What won't it do? It seemed to me that the AC/DC current range was the downside. Is that correct?

Yup, low max current but it makes up for it by having a nice millivolt range which you will likely use more. Also, very few of these meters measure AC accurately over 500HZ (that's its spec) - really only needed if you are measuring amplifier output at high frequencies. I've been using a Fluke 111 for quite a while and am very happy with it.

The 115, 116 and 117 are great meters for any bench. $60.00 is a great price. Did you ask for other stuff (leads, case, other electronics)? I find most people who are selling the meters have other things as well. They usually don't know what or how they work as it was someone else's.

I've gotten away from Flukes. I liked them fine when they were all made in Washington, but I have come to prefer the function-ability of the Amprobe 37XR and as a bonus it measure henries and millihenries. The blue back-lighting is far and away superior to Fluke which has always had issues with back-lighting.
