I just removed 4 of those big ones from an SX1250 that sounded terrible on the low end at higher volumes, the caps all measured less than 700UF :thumbsdn: . Put new ones in and what a difference.

Maybe I should sell 'em :scratch2:

Lot of guitar guys will buy the old Bumblebees and Black Beauties out of old tube amps.

Apparently they use them in the pickups of their guitars, which are low voltage. Looks like a win-win situation in this case.

PS caps on the other hand.....:nono:
 
Yeah, the old film caps are much more durable. Just as long as there is no hard candy coating around them. The hard coat cracks and moisture gets in.
