Fosi V3 and VSX-9500s

basic set up question i have been bouncing in my caveman brain.

I have a Pioneer VSX-9500s late 80s that powers a pair of speakers on my deck and a pair in my living. Not used everyday, just for dinner outside or parties. I have a pair of rock speakers (8ohm) that i want to add further out in the yard (these would be used even less often). I purchased a Fosi V3 and the larger power adaptor.

Not sure if my my plan make sense or will blow up the AVR. I have a Pyle 4 channel speaker selector that i want to use for zone specific volume adjustments.

can i safely use the Front A channel (125w 8ohm)to power the Pyle Speaker selector channels 1) Deck and 2) Living Room and use the VSX pre out rear(or center) channel to the V3 amp to power the rock speakers and run all 3 sets at once? I think the VSX has a rear channel volume control in the receiver.

Or Use the VSX front channel Pre-out to connect to the Fosi V3 to power the all 3 sets through the speaker selector? The V3 is supposedly rated down to 2 ohms and with the large power pack may have enough juice to power all 3. I would have to look at how sensitive the speakers are. This would not be in use every day and would only be on for 5-6 hours.

The VSX sounds great for my needs so i dont want to lose its processing, and tone adjustments if i dont have too.

overall looking for a budget way to power 3 zones with what i have. Appreciate any help

I would split the front pre-outs with Y cables and use those to drive both the built in amp and the Fosi amp. The Pioneer is a Pro-logic receiver and may lack the ability to send full-range signals to the rear or center channels via the preamp section. While it does have rear volume adjustment, that is meant to adjust the volume between front and rear, and is not independent of the main volume. Since the Fosi has a built in volume control, that should be sufficient for varying the volume between the deck and yard speakers.

If you want completely independent control, you can instead drive the Fosi amp using the Pioneer's tape out jacks.

i believe youre right, the center and rear are not full range

1) So two Y cables in each preout LR , one of each LR leg going to the to the power in LR and one to the Fosi input. Keep speaker selector connect to the AVR Front channel (deck and living room) and the Fosi powers the rock speakers.

Vs 2) using the tape out (REC) line to the Fosi and then to the speaker selector which is connected to all 3 sets? Or the Tape to Fosi just for the rock speakers?

I wouldn't use the speaker selector for all 3 speakers since you have two amps. Whether you use the tape or preamp outputs would depend on whether you want the master volume for the deck speakers and yard speakers to be separate.

Tape out level is fixed. So you'd use the volume on the Pioneer to control the deck speakers, and the volume on the Fosi to control the others.

went the tape out rout as i only had one Y splitter. Worked great.
