Why would you risk a fight with your girlfriend potentially resulting in a break-up, and/or starting a noise battle with your neighbour that escalates into a National Lampoon scale feud for a used sound system? And why, oh why would you fork over 1.5 hundred crisp Canadian dollars for this custom-built wall shaker knowing these listed risks, and almost definitely many other unlisted ones? Take a look at the picture I graciously supplied. Still not convinced? Read into the picture a bit; notice the speakers aren't connected, it's not because they're wireless or broken, it's actually because they work too well. Notice its location in the spare room where I've been mandated to confine it by the local sheriff. Apparently the nearby villagers were gathering their pitchforks and torches, organizing into a mob and preparing to run this sound monster outta town. Obviously because anyone who hears it, and that's everyone who is located within many city blocks, is fiercely jealous of the volume and clarity of its gravelly and classic rock star siren song*.
The noise beast includes:
1 - Harman/Kardon AVR 130 Receiver w/overcomplicated remote, batteries included if I can find some.
3 - Sony surround speakers, 1 is a centre the others are surround.
2 - Paradigm 6-inch front speakers with sweet tweeters
1 - 8-inch JBL subwoofer that looks awesome
1 - Cable that connects your iPhone
Lucky for you, I'll even include a copy of the user manual for the H/K.
All necessary, (and some unnecessary!) cables included.
How in the name of all that is Holy did this monster come to exist? Here's the short version:
Once upon a snowy Christmas morning I woke from my slumber to find a pretty big, fairly heavy gift under the tree. The tag said it was from Santa, the shotty wrap job said it was from my dad. Inside was the Harman/Kardon Receiver, a mystery to me. "What do I do with this shiny blue lighted thingy?" I asked. "Well, you blow all the Christmas money from your Grandparents buying additions and stuff, build yourself a kickin' sound system!" My dad said. After one or two genius additions by yours truly, multiple substitutions of inferior components, minutes of Internet research and a thunderbolt from Zeus himself to kick start this Franken-stereo's flux capacitor I was blasting some Crue through the souls of the neighbours down the block**. The Sandman definitely Enter(ed) more than a few homes, uninvited.
After the shivers you got from reading that little narrative subside and you recover your motor control shoot me an email, text message or phone call. Take the auditory revenge you're due.
*The volume and clarity may have been slightly over stated; it's no small venue Bon Jovi convert.
**Again, this thing is made from materials from this universe and thus is bound by the physical laws governing all that surrounds us. So its volume may be overstated, but really we're just being subjective so relax.
