I'm blown away,how many friend's (Audiophile's,or not)that hear the Frazier's,after listen to my other speaker's,and say they can't believe the sound that come's out of those speaker's.My id# are 55256,55257.Now on the look out for 3-way Frazier's,what model should i be looking for?Any idea's?
Just scored a pair of mk 4s.... Actually they read "mark IVa". They are very beat up and do not have grills or badges,,, but after hearing them, I happily paid $125 for the pair. I am a huge klipsch guy and the sound that came from these speakers made me whip out cash without hesitation. I usually restore speakers to be 100% beautiful, but for some reason, i m tempted to leave these ratty looking. I think it would be fun to have a pair of "sleepers", something like a rat rod
Of course, if someone reading this has an extra pair of Frazier badges, then i guess I would HAVE to get them back to show room condition.

My first speaker pair were Frazier. They used a Hemholtz radiator to help the Stevens woofer and Oxford horn. They like the later MK IV were rated from 40 to 18,000. But were designed as floor speakers. I later made sort of a horizontal change to an Altec Coronado, . I drove the Fraziers with A Scott 222 at first and then a MA 230 Mcintosh. It was a great system to start with. We sold Frazier commercial speakers and with help from well known acoustic engineers Frazier was really pushing the envelope with his designs in the 70s building time aligned and coaxial speakers. His big dedicated highly efficient, what we would call today, sub woofers really performed well. But they were big, make a Concert Grand and a Cornerhorn look like book shelf speakers. 106 db 4 ft 1 watt down to 25 hz as I remember. A Mac 2120 could drive one to fill a 700 seat theatre with seat shaking bass with ease.

Just found 2 sets of mark 4's at a estate sale . One set is really nice case wise but the grills are frayed a little .The other set the cases are going to have to be refinished, the grills are nicer tho.Hooked them up to my mac and they sound amazing.It's hard to believe a 45 + year old speaker can sound this good. Can't get the grills off on either set Using all the tricks from getting AR grills off in the past and I can't get it to move. I haven't given up yet.
I love my MK-IV's, I deoxed the tweeter control and replaced the capacitors in mine, they top the Klipsch Heresy in every way except midrange.
Can I see pictures of your Frazier Mark VI's? Just got a pair with tweeters and most I see are the twin Horns. Tx Rick
Hi Tom, Can you email me these Frazier documents? I cannot enlarge and read the print. I have a pair of what I think is Espana 1? To the left or the Mark VI in middle picture. For the life of me I cannot enlarge and read it the print. Dummy I konw. BUt if you know how or could email full size to me I would apprecate it.
Tom do you have the brochures that showed the Frazier models? Could you email me them? or post larger picture of the Mark VI and the Espana I please? I am trying to figure out which model I have and the info you have on brochure may help me figure that out!

I have only heard 1 set of fraziers, and they are awesome. A friend has them but I am not sure of the model but they are about the size of a loaf of bread.I have always admired that little set of speakers.

Photobucket is holding my original photo for ransom, so here's mine again. I bought these Frazier F-8-140 WR Sound Columns at a local community college along with a pair of JBL 4410s for $32. They went with my daughter to college, then back here after she graduated. They are currently hooked up to my Sansui 8080DB in the warehouse playing classical music daily. Not bad for $16. (The one on the right is upside down. I had just unloaded them when I shot the photo.)

I dug out my Frazier Mark 4a and paired it with my fisher 610-st. It sounds great! I picked the single speaker up years ago for $5 at a thrift store. I got the fisher out of a console along with a 30-a amp for $10. So you are looking at a real bargain priced vintage tube setup. Probably only use it for AM radio. The AM section of the fisher is really nice. Good tuner.
