Hi,

Offered a pair of Frazier model 7 for $300. Good condition. Could not find much info about it. Want to know some opinions. Worth it? Sound good? Thanks.

Never heard 'em, but for posterity: mid-70's. F-1270 12" woofer, 2X 4" MR, 2X horn (piezo) TW. Level controls on MR (pots, not pads--30 ohm 2W clarostat linear) and HF. Saw one report of both cone-type and horn-type MR's, but unverified, FWIW.

Reasons escape me, but Frazier User Group (FUG) moved to FB (no FB, here). If https://www.facebook.com/groups/584410888260783/ fails, I'm told that searching groups will find the right place.

Pretty-much end-table-tall. Guessing that people that love Fraziers would be on those.

I have a pair with the piezo tweeters. They have a very 'solid' sound, are fairly detailed, sound good at low levels but are very efficient and can play very loud when required. I run my pair with a 70's Harman Kardon 630 Twin Powered receiver that matches up very well.

I would get them if I were you. The pots will probably be scratchy and are hard to clean, but other than that they are simple. Good luck!

There's a set US audio mart for $575. I know that there was at least two versions of the model 7, one with piezos and cone mids and one with horns.

I love the sound of Frazier’s. I have Monte Carlo’s and Mark V’s. Very efficient and the horns on the 5’s are pretty smooth. They throw a wide soundstage, image well, and have pretty good detail. I’m a big fan of the University horns that mine came with.

Lots info on the Klipsch board and there’s a Facebook group if you are a user. Me, I avoid spybook like COVID. :)

I imagine the 7’s will be similar, but more. :)

hello, i just aquired a very nice pair of model 7 with piezo tweeters and cone mids, very difficult to find any info on them. very good sounding speakers. paid 15.00 for the pair. just wondering what the value might be, and how rare are they. i dont think very many were produced. thanks

I have a pair of Frazier Model 7s. I've had them for probably 35 years. I wouldn't take $1,000 for the pair. I don't have the base shown in the attachment, but I'm glad I don't - they wouldn't fit where I've placed them.
