Sounds to me like a landlord who evicted a tenant, possibly a tenant arrested, or abandoned the property. Wants the abandoned property gone so they can get on renting to someone else.

Wouldn't surprise me if some serial numbers were scratched off a few of those items.

I'm not holding my breath that I will hear back. Also condition of the place is pretty bad when you look closer at the images. Landlord could recoup if he only knew. Suppose the correct thing to do would be to tell the person giving them away that they have value.
