So what did I get?? Good, bad, nothing?? What?? When I opened this up the fuse, seen on the bottom of pic above, was blown, it was very dusty and old looking so I assume the owner never replaced it, I am assuming fuse blows, owner thinks it's old and finally died, puts out on pile of stuff with sign "FREE"

So yippee for me?? Or no biggie?

THOR is on the dark side now!

And FOR FREE!

Next- he'll say he found a turntable and a box of soft jazz vinyl on the curbside...

;)

Chris

Thor, I just sold one of these on eBay. It went for $57 without the wood case. Isn't is model SAF-24D not SA-24D?

Dave

Thor, I'm not much of a tube guy so I don't know much about that. It looks like you have RCA tubes in that one. I think the one I had may have had the original tubes, I sold it just like I found it. Those three in the front do look strange though.

Dave

THOR???

so THOR,
when are you trading in your mp3 for turntable and vinyl?

nice find, hope they both work

Those are Ecl82 tubes in there. They are the same tubes that are in the ASL wave 8. If that is the tube, it would be around 10 watts a channel. Realistic had Allied/Kight make rebadged equipment for them. If it is not an ECL82 tube, it would be a 6BQ5 (EL84) In that case it would be beween 12-20 watts a channel. It looks like its configured as a Class B Push Pull amp.

Ummmm is that good?

Just my humble opinion. The output transformers does not look like high priced items. The good ones would look more like the black color power transformer. Size of output transformer is probably for 20 watts or less. The good thing is it is a stereo tube amp. I ran across only 2 tube thingies in 2 years. They are pretty rare. If you don't already have tube amp, keep it to complete your line up. It won't play music the way you like though:p:

Is that good?
Well, I have read about your parchment to SS monsters, and this will probly not be your cup of tea. If it works, it is worth between 50-80 dollars. Also you would be suprised how nice it sounds on your Cerwin-Vegas :)
