I have a feeling that Toobs thinks that I've misconstrued the effects of wow and flutter with pitch errors or speed errors. That's why my joke had to do with being "undecided" on the sales "pitch", to allude to lack of speed consistency. Was that it Toobs? No worries in any case, just having some fun. :)

I've used an IOS version of Platterspeed to determine speed variations on turntables. It does a pretty decent job. I also have a Kenwood FL-180A W/F meter. It can be used with a test record with turntables. It also has a test tone generator (3K Hz or 31.5KHz) which you can use with tape machines to record the signal you want to test. The IOS version is much easier to use. It displays the signal it hears on a scale where the deviations are easily seen.

And with the sudden appearance of a serious reply, the thread gets yanked back on-topic.

I doubt it will last.

You did well, you needn't explain a joke.

If you get Platterspeed and spend for a good test record, make sure to put the record in a safe place, one where you will always know where it is, and never forget. That way, you may never find it again...

I've posted for 7 years on AK under another username. I didn't tell anyone this with this username.

Hmm, I'm not sure how a turntable mat would solve wow and flutter, but this revelation does bring up the issue of rumble and slew rate.
