Thanks everyone for the kind words. These turned out better than I could have imagined.
 
Thought I would share the latest development with these speakers.

I have been running them with my DIY First Watt F5 amplifier, Transcendent Sound Grounded Grid preamp and the Tjoeb Ah! CD player. The sound to my ears from this system is stunning. I have added a pair of AV123 ribbon super tweeters for that little extra air to the top end. They are crossed over at 15,000. With the corner placement of the drivers the bass is real good, but someday I'll try a sub in there for fun.

Today I switched out the drivers to a pair of Jordans that have been given the EnABL process. More about this can be found here:

Let me start by saying I have my doubts about the ability of this process to make sonic improvements, but stumbled on a pair at a price I could not refuse. Plus we all think there may one last tweak, so what the heck.

Just fired up the system and on first listen, with amp still cold, I could hear a difference. Better, worse? We'll have to see as I listen once the F5 gets warm. But there was a definite presentation difference.

I'll post a few pictures of the drivers with the EnABL treatment and super tweeters latter.

Still to early to comment on sonic differences.
 
are the dots inscribed into the metal or are they a material applied to the surface? seems like i've read something about this treatment before by one of the single driver guru guys over on diyaudio...
