As far as marking, there is generally none. Some will have the impedance stamped in white ink on the cone. But the OEM cartons from Peerless were generally unmarked. Very old versions may have foil stickers over the magnet frame with the model numbers on them and really old versions may have a pulp dust cap rather than the later aluminum cap.

The FMI-60*used a CTS tweeter, and the FMI-120 used the slightly larger MTS-25-HFC. The first version of the 80 also used a single MTS-25-HFC, and this was the speaker that JGH first raved about in Stereophile. Shortly thereafter Fulton switched to using pairs of the MTS-225-HFC in each 80, the version we know best.

*The original FMI-60 used a 6” or 7” full-range driver with a whizzer cone. No separate tweeter. I have both versions of the 60. My full-range version has the usual foam surround rot and I need to fix that, someday.

That can be fixed if you have a part number for the tweeter.

That’s an unknown configuration to me. It must have preceded the four-tweeters-in-a-diamond configuration of the later 100s.

I almost pulled the trigger on them but decided I have other projects going plus it would have been a bit of a drive to get them. I would have done the drive for 80’s though.

Those are not the correct tweeters, unfortunately. I don’t know what they are. The original tweeters are Peerless MT-225-HFC Alnico tweeters. Despite having simple-looking paper cones they are actually very smooth and articulate.

One of the Peerless MT 225HFC tweeters in one of my FMI80s is damaged beyond repair. Would you happen to have an extra one laying around that you don't plan on using anytime soon?

Not at present, sorry. They pop up occasionally on EBay in various conditions or in speakers from which they can be “harvested”. You can search for RTR and McIntosh tweeters and sometimes get a hit from sellers who don’t know they are Peerless tweeter. But your best bet might be to search on Micro Acoustics speakers, which often used Peerless tweeters.

Yes those look like 80/100 hybrids! Do you know if the tweeters are 2.25" or 2.5"?

On another Fulton-related topic, would you happen to have a flier or a data sheet for the Fulton E-Modular System which consists of an E-woofer, an FMI-80 and an E-tweeter Module?

Nice stuff, but a handful to try to repair properly.
