I guess it was time to sell it ...
There's a friend of mine that has one of those in a machine shop on a shelf driving some unknown speakers. He won't let me take pics of it, or try to sell it for him. It looks disgusting, such a shame. I'm going to rub it in and show him this AD.... (maybe)

If that was my friend i'd be going there when he wasn't around and replacing it with something worthy of being in a machine shop.. like one of those plastic boomboxes :D

:thmbsp: ...a perfect use for BPC.

On another note, $4500 with free shipping is his bottom dollar. He said it will be double boxed, and packed right. That seems like a lot of coin, but these do have a good bit of value due to their rarity. What do you guys think of that price?

A stunning receiver, one of the most impressive ever made. Still, at nearly $5K it's more than I'd ever pay for a receiver (this side of a Reggie Wayne --and that only if I owned a pro football team).

I learned recently that I just missed out on a local G-22000 that sold for under a grand. I just don't see the G-33K being worth that much more than the G-22K, despite its greater rarity and greater desirability. I can understand those with deeper pockets, fewer opportunities, and a stronger "jones" for receivers paying such prices, though, especially for a receiver as nice as this one.

Hard to put a price on a collector piece like a 33K. Like Arkay, I'd never consider $5000 for a receiver but then my Jones'n is not for big ass 300 wpc "statement piece" receivers...as nice as a 33K Sansui is.

Looks like someone made a deal for it, listing has ended.

He gave me the $500 AK member discount and took my $4000 offer...

There is now a large void in the ledger formerly known as my bank account... for now it has become my pocket change repository, since bank account tends to imply there is more than just pennies

I swear this is the last piece of audio gear I will purchase this year. Really. The wife may soon grow weary of my online audio shenanigans... and this is not one of those sneak-it-on-the-shelf-and-hope-she-doesn't-notice pieces...
:nono:

Hopefully it arrives safely. CA to PA...

You really have no self control now do you?
And now you've got to start buying some big-ass speakers.
I know you're saying you're not going to buy anymore - but that's just junky talk.

G-33000 Amp

Well the amp is packed. Took a picture. The box is heavy duty 38x18x18 with lots of soft foam. Hope the picture attached.

I have plenty of self control and I won't be buying anything else this year.

ooooooo.... look over there... big speakers... must have big speakers...

You know, you aren't the greatest influence either. You only make my OCD worse. Especially with all of your recap projects... it gets me thinkin'

Greetings, Roy! I was wondering if you were going to come to the party with how much I've been running my big mouth. In all seriousness, I figured I would let you remain anonymous unless you wanted to reveal who you are.

Thanks again. Your packing looks great... I think that would pass the 'six foot drop onto concrete' test the EW has spoken of in the past.

Congrats on the big G...and I'm right here in NorCal, but w/o the bank account...

The packing looks like it will survive anything! Let's hear your impression once it gets to PA and had the chance to listen to it...

I'd have to move out if I bought it. Your wife is very understanding.

Congrat's there...

hehe... If she kicks me out of the house, then I guess I'll have to go live in the shop... :D

House and shop... The outside pics are from several years ago right before I bought it, and alot has changed since then, but you'll get the idea. The house isn't much to speak of, but the shop... hehe

The packing is great! ...no worries there.

I will most definitely share my impression of the beast, cosmetically and acoustically...

Just curious Roy, why didn't you try and sell it here on AK? Don't have to answer that if you don't want.. just wondering.

And as far as the shop bigger than the house.. that's the way it's supposed to be isn't it??

Hell, your mancave is better than my house..

Packed and Shipped

OK, 2 boxes 1 @ 80lbs and the other @ 50 lbs. Those boxes are double wall, 120lb gross weight. Should withstand any type punishment. Nice mancave, shoot :scratch2:, I'd be in trouble all the time, just to play pool and the stereo:yes:

I wanted to sell the G-33000, had it for four years, long enough to become very attached. Things of higher dollar hang around for a long time in bartertown and any more than a few days any I would have just keep it(oops, change my mine). The big G is hard to let go, the faster the easier :tears:
