Games from the good old days :)

I found my old genesis recently in a box of stuff my mom left for me to sort out and since then have wasted way too much time looking for old games online.
I found this one http://www.playretrogames.com/874-pokemon-dark-rising-1 but if anyone has any others that would be great.

So far I've played Sonic the hedgehog, supermario and donkey kong. I'm not sure if I want to play Lemmings again as I remember losing whole days to that, but i think I can handle a bit of tetris...

The N64 was the golden age of my childhood. Friends and I still play games together like Goldeneye, Mario Kart, Smash Brothers, Mario Party, Poke on Stadium etc.

8-bit and 16-bit consoles were my generation. While I haven't played any of them the last decade or so, I have very fond memories. Many indie publishers are also putting out really good games that are a throwback to that era, such as Binding Of Isaac, Cave Story, and Super Meat Boy.

My fav's were "Stunt Car Racer" and "Captive" on the Atari STe. I lost days to those games. You could play SCR on a link with another Atari using a serial cable. Captive was cool because every time you finished it you could start again with a whole new set of maps.

I have an original Intellivision II console with two controllers, though not working, it has great sentimental value as it was given to me on my birthday by my now dearly departed daughter back in the 80s. It will never depart form my sight. Burgertime was her favorite & we played for hours. Demon Attack I have as well.

About a year ago I found a mint Intellivison II console with brand new contollers. I have the Intellivoice & about 15 games. Some of them are of the Sears brand & two are of rarity in availability (Donkey Kong Jr., Centipede). This is great system & I am always looking for games to add to the collection.

I have a N64 in Jungle Green with some good games like Killer Instinct Gold & others.

Also have a Mini Super Nintendo with classic games like Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past, man what a hard game & worried about the battery life left! Super Smash TV which is my fav game for this system. Have many more like Double Dragon II & Super Mario All-Stars/Super Mario World!

Sony Playstation with Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000! This is a very fine game!
I play it often along with many others! Also, the fine & rare Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes!

I also have a Gameshark Pro with memory manager for the Playstation1 that plugs into the parallel port instead of the regular slots. It is a true classic piece & very hard to find.

Nice thread,
Rome

I had Intellevision in my late teen years. Poker, blackjack and baseball ruled that game.

I have an unused Atari 2600 system that is my wife's childhood setup. I like Yar's Revenge on that one.

I was an Arcade guy in the '81-'83 interval and have a Tempest upright in my house now.

Street Fighter was always my main game. I played a ton from the early 90's to the mid 00's, and have a 8 tournament wins under my belt. When I was a teen, the local video store and arcade had tournaments a few times per year. The video store was the best, 1st place got 3 games for SNES, Genesis, or TG16, or a choice of one of the consoles instead of the games. 2nd place got 1 game and 10 free rentals, and 3rd place got 10 free rentals. That was the best video store, because the owner would rent import games and give the customer the proper cartridge adapter so it worked on US consoles. Those were some fun times. The owner sold the business in about '97 or '98 and the new owner did a terrible job. He ran that store to the ground in less than a year. These days, I don't get much Street Fighter action. I still do play every so often on Steam, but it's nothing like it used to be. That said, I can still pick up a controller and break out some combos with the best of them, even after an extended absence. It's one of those games you never forget how to play.

Asteroids, Space Invaders, Missile Command, also a Formula One Racing game, and a GP Motorcycle game, forget the name....they were all fun ! :thmbsp:

Would you guys allow me to get away with: Qbasic's 'Gorilla', here??? [I note that 'Kongregate' have re-jigged it for today's use  :) ].

Cheers, og

I hear ya, Bad!

Man, if I had the money back from playing SF on the arcade console, I would have enough to buy some land! :D

It's such a classic game. My son & grandson play online tournaments with SF.

Blanka, Dhalism & Vega are my favs I use for the original!

I also have SF2 & SF3 Alpha which are pretty good too.

Well, enjoy & maybe we'll get to battle some day! :D

When my stepson was around I got into Sega. My favorites were Flashblack and Strider. I still have my Genesis Nomad which is sorta rare, a game gear sized handheld that plays the regular genesis cartridges.

The Alpha games were my favorites, followed by Cap vs SNK and Cap vs SNK 2...awesome stuff. My favorite characters were always Ken, Akuma, Rolento, Bison, Blanka, Charlie, and Guile. Speaking of Street Fighter, have you ever played Street Fighter EX? It was a 3D Street Fighter from the late 90's. My local arcade had it and I plunked some serious quarters in that one.

Ahhh Beatnik!

Great console & I can remember my son tearin' up some Sega Spinball. He was very good at that game when he was about 10 or so.

He also have a Dreamcast with the hardest game I have ever seen him play called "Jet Grind Radio." Geesh!

I still tease him about not getting Potts the Dog! :D
Very hard game, sorta like Super Smash TV! Wow!

Yea, I have used those characters too & I have SF EX2 Plus, which is alright, kinda' slow for play, but still a good game!

Hey, don't forget those Tekken games either, still love #3! :D

I wonder who else has one of these:
Super Nintendo Turbo Controller (AsciiPad)? :D

I love mine & it is so light for control! Wish Sony made one like it!

Our first game console was the Fairchild Channel F. Then we got Colecovision and an Adam computer :( that thing was a dud.
