Agree. The motor mounts, even if brand new Garrard units, can be improved on. The motor contributes more rumble than a new idler wheel, or original, soft and grippy idler wheel. The silicone motor isolators are the best solution, short of making your own from soft butyl rubber.

I've always wondered about how rigid these arms are. Do they require rebuilding after such a long time?

None of mine have required rebuilding. I did check for play in the articulating headshell bearings, and base of the articulating arm bearing. Mine are all tight, meaning no slop.

Yes, member @tothmes here makes great working grommets made of silicone. Made a significant improvement in rumble level on my z100.

He, like me, is located in Sweden,. Not sure how to purchase them abroad. But he will hopefully jump in here and tell.

Just ordered the motor grommets,pretty reasonable price including shipping from Sweden.
Here’s a pic of my Zero 100c,running great all functions working,yes that’s a drill bit posing as the cover prop!

Thanks a million for this link! Pure gold! I wouldn't expect it to be much of actual help for a Garrard Zero, but it looks like a great background for where the 60s turntable generation came from. I'm surprised I haven't come across it before.

I assume you've already read up on Klaus Adlhoch's Dual service guides at Vinyl Engine? https://www.vinylengine.com/turntable_forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=65030 They have much more of info for this generation of machines - not only relevant for Duals. I really wish there were something as good specifically on the 60s-70s Garrards.
