Is it a belt drive ? Not idler ? You could start with a couple of drops of lightweight oil on the platter bearing.

johnjhazel is the platter bearing at the base of the spindle? I put a few drops of light oil there and it's still slow.

I'm not finding any info on this stereo on the Internet. How do you get the turntable out of the console?

I believe that is a 1967 model, the turntable motor needs to be cleaned and oiled, possibly needs motor mounts and idler
wheel also.
To remove the tt, you have to take the back off the console and flip the clips on the transport screws to the to the straight up/down
position.

Yes. Right between the stationary part around the spindle and the platter itself.

Looks like a c-clip around the spindle. Will removing that release the turntable?
