the seller tried his best to answer this question for you already. if you had clicked on the links in the ad, you'd see this company is completely legitimate. the speakers in the ad were part of their budget line at the time, but they have the same drivers as the better models.
 
i went to go back to it and someone flagged it. I wonder if people on here flagged it as being white van speakers.
 
that's too bad, i hate it when legit ads get flagged. they would be very nice speakers for a couple hundred bucks. if you are interested, you might be able to find a different version of the ad on Google. i look out for Genesis speakers, and i think that guy has posted those on multiple CL sites (could also be why it was flagged, come to think of it...).
 
i just did a google search and it only shows up in the pittsburgh craigslist in that one listing.

Thanks I went to the white van speaker page and it said genesis media labs as white van and not to be confused with genesis advanced technologies. I guess when looking at the guys listing it said they were over 40 lbs each for a 2 ways speaker that is very heavy. They always say white vans are always light.

Looks like I won't be buying them. The wife saw my email and was like your not buying anymore speakers. She tries to keep me down on my electronics hording.
 
One of my local thrifts had a boxed set of the Genesis Media Labs for $699!!!! I pointed the manager to the white van scam Wikipedia page, he took them off the floor.

The 5 pair of genesis I have we're all made by Genesis Physics Corp. I don't think they morphed to anything else.

The local ARC thrift had a 5 speaker set of Genesis Media Lab speakers in their collectible area 3-4 weeks ago. The box said retail price $2,999 so the thrift had them marked down to a measly $1,799! I was so tempted to buy. But I squelched the urge and told the electronics pricer about their "heritage". He thanked me profusely. When I went into the store about a week later they were still there....with a price tag of $199.

i wonder if the person who donaited them to the thrift shop got a donation slip saying they were worth so much for their taxes? lol may make a good deduction. lol
