Getting new wheels for my Magnum, which do you prefer?

Well, I made a decision, and I was helped by the fact that the Boss wheels are on back order for at least 8 weeks. I got a screaming deal on the SRT wheels through Discount Tire.

The cheapest I had seen the wheels was on ebay for $999 plus $149 for shipping and then I'd have to lug them down to a tire store and pay for mounting and balancing so probably $1200+ total or so. Discount is doing the wheels, plus mounting and balancing and the rebuild kit for my TPMS system out the door with tax for $962. I don't even know how they're making any money on this.

I like the Boss wheels, but at the same time, they look similar enough to what I already have that some people probably wouldn't even notice the change. I'm kind of excited about a whole new look, plus I'll still have the Torq Thrust so I can either decide to refinish them or sell them if I really prefer the new look.

Another cool thing is, I've yet to ever actually see another car with the 22" SRT wheels on the road, only from internet pictures.

I have Chrome ARE 20's on my 06 GMC 1500 still look good just use mild soap I bought the wheels in 03 had them on my prior truck an 03 GMC kept them put them on my 06. GMC
I use turtle wax car wash and a big home depot natural sponge on the wheels when I wash the truck and lambs wool mitt on the truck of course. keeps chrome from scratching gets into the crevices then dry them & wipe w/ mequires quick detailer they still look look new.from 03
Not a big fan of polished wheels to much maint. glad you like new the wheels Nice charger you got there.
I recently Bought 4 tires at Americas tire 295 50r20 Falkens for the truck good service.

AR's chrome might hold up just fine, but their clear coat on the machined aluminum sure doesn't. I'm glad yours still look good.

Discount Tire has always done me right, one of the few companies I cannot really complain about.

Oh yeah, the car is a Magnum, not a Charger, but the whole LX family of Chrysler's share a lot, like the interiors, chassis and drive train, so I forgive you for calling it a Charger lol!

89g you are right clear coat doesn't hold up that's one reason why I bought chrome
there are no machined or clear coat surfaces visible on the chrome wheels .
EDIT Nice Magnum . The bling looks OK on a blue truck. Given the choice of clear coat
painted surface or chrome I would choose the latter two.back in 03 they were the only ARE 20's avail
for GMC /Chevy truck actually it was Nov 02 they were spendy at the time 2 piece alloy but still US made w/ decent chrome.
last Moper I had was a 99 Dodge ram sport it was a good truck .

From an artistic point of view, the SRT8 have some rounded surfaces and an angular surface just like the cars body. The others are all round and curvy unlike the car body. The SRT8s, to my eye, look better and blend well with the body styling.

Got them installed today. I like them a lot. Gives the car kind of a stock look, yet not completely stock because of the size.

Yep. Think they look VERY good. Tasteful. You've kinda got a "Stealthmobile" anyway, so you don't really want something that shouts "LOOK AT ME !!", like some idiot kid. At the same time, yr ride has that "I Mean BUSINESS..." look to it, which those wheels kinda telegraph in a subtle, yet FIRM way.

My wife has a 2005 RT. I put an eibach swaybar set on it, which I really recommend! Nice choice of wheels. Did you trash the AR's? They would look good re-powdercoated. I have refinished a lot of wheels.

I really really wanted to put OEM 300c SRT8 wheels on her car but budget fell way short and I had to buy tires for her clapped out oem r/t wheels. The clear/powder is failing on those if it makes you feel any better.

I took the AR wheels home, not sure if I'm going to sell them or keep them yet. I'll probably sell them since I doubt I'd put them back on even if they looked good as I think I prefer these anyway.

These wheels are weird, they look a lot different depending on how the sun hits them. In the first pics they look almost a flat silver, and you don't notice the machined finish on the tip of the spokes, but in different sun light they look a little more shiny.
