Good news for Kenwood owners

Well, when I power it on and move the volume dial knob... The sound fades in and out. There is no water damage from the looks of it. Phono does not work, nor does the am/fm radio. Additionally, the buttons that control speaker A and B are missing/broken. The button for hi filter is also damaged /missing. I'll be happy to add photos once I get home to show you for a better idea. I

*One is missing the button and the other (Speaker B) does not pop in or out. Volume fades in and out when touching clockwise or counter clockwise the volume knob.

Kr6050 gets hot

my KR 6050 just started acting up on start up. I just took apart the relay on the back of the power switch and cleaned the contacts up. Now she start up great, hopefully for another 35 years.

Hi,
I have a KR6050 kenwood in the shop for the first time. Bias V is normal. DC is very normal. Has new outputs. Clean sine wave. Everything tests normal except the heatsink gets hot without a load. Is this normal?
Thanks.

Doesn't seem right. I have a 6060 (very similar). You may want to see what the B-E voltage on the outputs, and make sure it is ~0.5V to 0.55v. If higher, you can adjust the bias down via the adjustment. Also look to see if there had been any work done of it, with possibly wrong replacements. New outputs (unless you put them in) could be Asia Clones with Parallel Junctions inside to to be able to support amp parameters, but produces a different "Impedence"
But I have worked on other amps/receivers, that required that I tune down the bias, in order to reduce the unrealistic heat.
