1) Advent 300 receiver W/ manual $14
2) Klipsch Synergy F1's $20 at Goodwill - Looking at a crossover tweak now.
3) Heathkit AA-1214 14 wpc SS integrated amp for $4 at SA
4) Technics SA-303 receiver $10 at GW
5) Kenwood KA-8004 SS integrated amp $35 Epray
6) Yamaha M-35 4 channel amp - $32 Epray - Really like this amp.
7) 4 Realistic 8" full range drivers for $16 at Epray - Built some TQWT's that I like for Jazz, Vocals and Accoustic (with helper tweeter.)
8) Infinity SM 100 Military's $20 at GW, Modded those, swapped woofers and gave them away.

I almost grabbed those 4 Realistic 8" full range drivers myself .............

Today's run:

1 pair CJD (can't find *any* info on these) speakers. Say "Los Angeles, CA" on the back. They have 10" Alnico CTS 10W90 (??) woofers and what look like "miniature" alnico tweeters. Cabinets are real wood veneer, nice condition too. $10. I'll post pics later. Any info?

Marantz eq-20 $10, Looks nice, but it'll probably have more use in my recording setup. or maybe as a tape EQ (I pretty much listen to only tape and vinyl).

I passed on a pair of Tannoy C-6's for $30 ($15 ea, mounted on speaker stands) the surrounds were disintegrated.

pair of JBL J520M $10. surrounds are disintegrated. Didn't know it at the time, but this ain't really that good a deal.

sounds really good!

how tall? wide? deep?
(i'm trying to picture, in my mind, the components and books all in one cabinet.)
pics?

The thing stands about 6 feet in height with shelves that are 16 inches long and 24 inches deep. As for the college books, I intend to add a few shelves in areas where they will not interfere with good amp heat dispersal.

I apologize not for the accompanying bachelor abode pics ;)

Not audio...but two straight weeks I've stopped at the normally overpriced SA. Two weeks in a row they've had a brand new suit, with the tags still on, in my size, already altered to fit me perfectly. The first is a hand-tailored (somewhere, supposedly in Italy) grey pinstripe three-button, the second is a Ralph Lauren dark tan two-button. Total damage, less than $50. The RL by itself was probably a rather impressive multiple of the total purchase price. My job requires quite a bit of suit-wearing, so I'm always happy to score something nice for very little $.

I think we who go to GW to shop for more than just audio are lucky in the respect that if we see nothing audio related worth looking at (in my area that tends to be 9 out of 10 audio searching trips) there are other reasons to look around the store.

I'm happily not above checking out other stuff that I have use for, such as nifty concert tees for both myself and my teenage son, microwaves, furniture, etc. This past year I've picked up three very nice TI graphing calculators for less than $20 total price, as well as my shelving unit, a few spare keyboards, some good audio/video cables, silverware, you name it, seems like I've bought it at one time or another.

Craziest (not necessarily the best) find yet:

8 brand new tubes of GreenGlue for $1.99 each!

This is "weird" because I am currently in the process of soundproofing a room and had just bought a few cases of these and was thinking I could use a few more tubes just for some odds and ends.

Weird how that happens sometimes. I'm in the process of getting digital cable installed. I don't watch a ton of tv, so it's a work in progress. After thinking about it a while, I decided it'd be easiest if I got a HD tuner box and hooked it up myself and then just had Comcast upgrade my service. Like two days later, I found a Samsung HD cable set-top box at GW for $13. No remote, but I just programmed the remote for my Samsung tv to run it. Perfect!

Nice! Now that you mention that, that's a really good idea. I haven't really kept an eye out for those boxes but I probably should.

Dual 1219 Noresco Plinth. $20 in Whistler, one of the only deals I've ever found on anything in this town(except Hiking and scenery) Turn table works great after I lubricated the motor bearings thanks to Dave for his great pdf manual.

Stopped at a local pawn shop and much to my surprise I found a pair of Sennheiser HD570 headphones in perfect condition for $20. Haven't had a chance to play with them yet but I did check them at the store for clarity and to make sure they had no wiring problems. I'm sure they won't be replacing my HD600s, but well worth what I paid for 'em and should be a good addition to my headphone collection :). I also picked up an 8GB 4th generation Ipod for the gym, where a man has to have his tunes. Not a steal at $70 but not a bad price.

Audio rack (not sure who makes it but it looks nice) for $15 off of craigslist. Should clean up pretty well I imagine.

Okay not audio but shopping in Madison Wisconsin on Monday and walked into a Goodwill. Saw this big thing behind some stuff. Pulled it out and it was a Projector, a Proxima DP9260+ projector. No cord and no remote but for 7.99 I thought if I can't get it to work I will sell it for parts. I got it home and added an old computer power cord and turned it on...works GREAT, hooked up the Xbox 360 and played it in 1080i. This thing is 2500 lumens, very bright. You can check it out at this site.

projectors rule!
been using a hi def panasonic for 5 yrs. for movies and concerts, it's the only way to go.
i still watch tv on a tv.

Nice SCROE on the projector.

However, the native resolution is 1024x768... you might enjoy better picture quality at 720P.

Incredible deal.

I got a Sony STR-6046A Receiver for $8 yesterday that is now in excellent working condition, save for one dial lamp. (Aftersome Deoxit and MUCH elbow grease)

"Only" 22WPC, it's louder than I ever want to play it at half volume, and it's really transparent giving me the impression of a huge soundstage.

Very underrated vintage unit, IMO.
